Align Growth Global: Why We’re Here

We didn’t plan to start a company together. We didn’t have to...

As colleagues at Red Hat, working across different geographies and functions, each of us helped prove that open source could be a multi-billion dollar business, that community was more than marketing and that a commercial ecosystem could propel the technology to massive global penetration.

When we each eventually left - separately, without a plan - we found ourselves asking the same question: what happens when you take everything you learned about how platforms actually work and do it outside the platform itself?

Align Growth Global is the answer; the same team, no longer tied to a single platform, now bringing that insider knowledge to the scaleups and investors who need it most.

We help Venture Capital (VC) firms stress-test their platform and ecosystem thesis, diagnose which portfolio companies are exposed or well-positioned in the AI era and sit alongside the teams that need to move faster.

The AI transformation is the largest, fastest replatforming in the history of the technology industry. We've been inside every preceding era. Now we're doing this work for the one that matters most.

  • Neela built and led the partner communications and communities that drove Red Hat's commercial expansion across Europe and globally. She went on to scale global GTM strategies working with major distributors and hyperscalers, giving her a ground-level understanding of how platform relationships actually translate into market penetration. She knows what alignment looks like from inside a large platform and from the early-stage companies trying to find their footing within one.

  • Mike was among the first to prove that a commercial ecosystem - developers, ISVs, partners, startups - could become the primary engine of platform growth, building that model for 20 years at Microsoft before it had a name. He then rebuilt it at Red Hat, creating and scaling Red Hat Partner Connect into the largest commercial open-source ecosystem in the world and influencing over a billion dollars in revenue. In between, he was inside a leading venture firm  which is why he understands the pressure VC firms face as well as the portfolio companies navigating it

  • Will spent nearly two decades at Red Hat architecting the commercial infrastructure that turns platform strategy into revenue. He helped design the business model underlying Red Hat Enterprise Linux - creating the blueprint for how ISVs, systems integrators, and distribution partners built sustainable businesses within the ecosystem. He ran deal desks, worked through complex customer and partner scenarios, and built the pricing models, deal frameworks, and cloud marketplace integrations across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud that made partner-led revenue scalable at global scale.

Every company in the world has a relationship with a platform - a hyperscaler, a software provider, an open‑source foundation. Most treat that relationship as a logo on a partner page, a booth at an event or a simple listing in a marketplace.

Very few understand that the relationship itself is the strategy.

We weren't watching that from the outside. We were inside the rooms where it was being designed, and accountable for the outcomes.

Prior platform shifts - PC, Web, Mobile, Cloud, changed how technology was built and distributed. The AI era is moving faster and cutting deeper than any of those.
It’s reshaping the behavior of platforms themselves, and many scaleups and high-growth companies are sitting inside that shift without knowing where they stand or what it means for their commercial model.

That’s the gap we’re here to close.

Venture capital firms are assumed to have all the answers. Many General Partners (GPs) raise on their experience as operators, deploy capital based on their core thesis, and are expected to know where the market is heading. But platform transitions often don’t respect prior thesis with the AI era reshaping the very companies already invested in, creating urgency and timelines that have replaced traditional venture cycles. Financial analytics alone are not sufficient to determine, predict or diagnose portfolio success in this replatforming, and exits and returns are creating unease in the LP (Limited Partner) markets.

AGG exists to close the gap with platform intelligence, diagnostic frameworks, and execution experience that help VC firms and their portfolios not just survive this transition but grow through it.

We run a structured diagnostic to reveal whether a B2B tech company has genuine platform advantage or just the appearance of it. We help investors see their portfolio exposure inside the AI platform transition not from financial data alone, but from the structural signals aligned with products, platforms and technologies that surface before the numbers do.

The diagnostic is the starting point. The real work is sitting alongside portfolio companies and leadership teams on the commercial, ecosystem and GTM decisions that follow. Advising and building it with them.

Most of what’s available in the market today are fractional executives, single‑function advisors or generalist consultants - each offering one perspective on one part of the problem.

AGG delivers something different: the team that was inside the platforms themselves, responsible for the products, programs, and ecosystems that determined whether thousands of companies succeeded or failed across thirty years of platform transitions.

We opened in April 2026, with operations in Boston and London.

If you’re an investment firm trying to understand how platform shifts are affecting your portfolio, we’d like to talk.

If you’re a B2B tech company trying to understand whether you’re building something sustainable in the AI era or whether you’re more exposed than you realize, we’d like to talk to you too.

We live and do business in a platform and ecosystem based world. When platforms change, business changes. We've architected and designed the foundations that determine whether companies succeed through those transitions. Helping VC firms and their portfolios navigate the largest one in history is what we do now.

That's why we're here.
